Modern manufacturing and testing methods of optical and mechanical units are employed to ensue the estimated optical characteristics of the lenses.
The application of special chemically unstable glass (STK3, OF4, FK24 etc.) for the lens production requires deep grinding and polishing.
Checking of convex optical surfaces is made with US-170 interferometer, using superposition (overlap) method followed by computer processing of fringe patterns.
To elliminate the internal stresses in titanium lens holders, they are multiply heat treated at different stages of the manufacturing process
To ensure high accuracy of the lens positioning in the holders (not worse than 3…4 µm), special techniques for lens mounting and the final control of lens assemblies have been developed.
The assembled objective-lenses are checked for the correspondence between the optical and design parameters.
