Today our Institute possesses a number of modern optical technologies for creating sophisticated elements of optics,
including laser, and large high-resolution lenses in IR and visible range.
A scientific-technological complex organized at the Institute allows one to manufacture optical
elements from unconventional materials using methods of polishing and diamond turning. Sophisticated optical surfaces can be
produced, and all stages of the optical fabrication process, from blanking to evaluation procedures are performed at the one
facility. Various optical elements are manufactured here:
- aspheric mirrors for a variety of applications;
- off-axis aspheric surfaces;
- mirrors for industrial lasers;
- mirrors and lenses for thermal imaging systems, including polygonal mirrors.
The automatic shaping technology of the sophisticated optical surfaces of glass, quartz and vitreous ceramics
(for example, off-axis parabolic mirrors) using small tool is constantly improving. The elements of aspheric optics are required for
creating telescopes with reflecting objectives and for other precision optical instruments. The high technical quality of our products has
led to significant overseas sales by the Institute of off-axis aspheric optics.
Our Institute carries out the whole production cycle of the high-resolution lenses (up to 500 mm), including the
interferometric control of the convex surfaces and precise processing of titanium holders and rings using vacuum annealing and template
finish with a tolerance from 1 to 3 μm.
A thermostatically controlled sector has been implemented for the polishing of Nd-glass slab and rod
active elements for large laser beam systems.
